6412 Kapampangans Receive Health Insurance

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – As part of the health care program of the administration of Gov. Lilia Pineda, a total of 6 412 kapampangan were enrolled to Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) this year.

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) headed by Elizabeth Baybayan facilitated the enrollment of the indigents and pregnant mothers who do not have health insurance.

She said the recipients of the health cards were identified by the barangay health workers (BHWs) and verified by their office to make sure that they belong to the needy families.

“Most of the blue-collar job workers (laborers, skilled workers), unemployed, underprivilege and indigents are not ensured. They are the target of the health care program of the provincial government,” Baybayan said.

PSWDO data show data beneficiaries came from different towns in the province; Mabalacat 679, Magalang 356, Floridablanca 625, Guagua 395, Lubao 485, Porac 134, Sasmuan 107, Sta. Rita 107, Arayat 144, Bacolor 62, City of San Fernando 1 521, Mexico 263, Sta. Ana 123, Apalit 305, Candaba 127, Macabebe 222, Masantol 299, Minalin 256, San Luis 40, San Simon 87, and Sto.Tomas 75.

Baybayan added their enrollment is free and valid for one year wherein beneficiaries are entitled to all benefit packages especially the no balance billing policy imposed to all government-run-hospitals.

“The philhealth distribution is also in compliance of the provincial government to the universal health care bill mandating all citizens of the country to be covered by the National Health Insurance Program,” she said.
