Guv gives health assistance to moms and kids

LUBAO, Pampanga – Governor Lilia “Nanay” G. Pineda led the distribution of 400 PhilHealth cards for mothers and their newborn kids at the Lubao Gymnasium Thursday.

Governor Pineda was accompanied by her special medical team consisting of surgeons namely, Drs. Allan Magday, Jacob Santos and Emmanuel Santos; Obstetrician-gynecologists Drs. Melinda Cayabyab and Fida Guevarra; and Pediatrician Dr. Paul Baltazar.

“Nung ninu man kekayu ing atin daramdaman masakit, atin myoma, bukul, o luslos a kailangan ma-opera, kayabe kula ngeni reng surgeons ampo ob-gyne para maulu kayu,” (I have here with me surgeons and ob-gyns to treat anyone with ailments or anyone in need of surgery for myoma, cysts, and hernia), the governor announced.

Apart from this, Dr. Baltazar conducted free consultation for 70 newborn babies. Said pediatrician regularly holds free checkup for kids during Tuesday and Thurday afternoon at the Escolastica Romero District Hospital.

The activities are still part of the provincial government’s “Alay sa Buntis Program,” aiming to provide medical assistance for pregnant women and later on their newborn babies.

“Maragul pung saup ining binye ng Governor Pineda, libre no pung melawe reng anak mi ngeni atin kepa pung PhilHealth card a agamit ning buo ming pamilya,” (This assistance from Governor Pineda is a great help, not only did we get free checkup for our babies but we were also given PhilHealth cards that will benefit our whole family),” said Tetsy Sudiam, beneficiary from Floridablanca.

PhilHealth cards for 83 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) were also distributed at said event.
