CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Re-elected Pampanga Gov. Lilia Pineda and vice-governor-elect Dennis “Delta” Pineda assured the Kapampangans of more pro-poor programs for the next three years of their administration.
Gov. Pineda, who defeated former de-facto governor Eddie Panlilio with a margin of almost 400,000, said her landslide victory proved that the Kapampangans have seen the effectiveness of her governance and wanted her to continue what she has done.
With this, the governor vowed to “work harder and perform better.”
“My victory shows the approval of the Kapampangan to my leadership considering the accomplishments of my first administration. We will not only continue our existing programs. Their confidence inspires me to initiate more new programs beneficial to them with the help of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan,” Pineda said.
She added that given her second mandate, the pro-poor programs initiated by the provincial government for the past three years will guarantee additional beneficiaries such as addition to the existing 6,000 beneficiaries of Negosyo king Panyulung Program, assistance to farmers and fishermen and medical support.
For his part, vice governor-elect Dennis Pineda said he will support the agenda of his mother to uplift the lives of marginalized sector in the province through passage of resolutions and ordinances that would cater and target the needs of the people.
“There is no competition between me and my mother on who is working harder. We will work as a team, together with the board members. All good programs of the executive will be institutionalized.” Dennis, who is also a former mayor of Lubao, clarified issues of check and balance levelled against them.
“Whether relatives or not, public service is collaboration of efforts between the elected officials. We will work hand in hand but not at the expense of check and balance. All documents in the capitol will be opened for public scrutiny,” he said.
