Pampanga gov named ‘most outstanding’ on employment service

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Gov. Lilia “Nanay” G. Pineda was conferred on October 11, as the “Most Outstanding Governor” of the Philippines on Public Employment Service Office (Peso) during the 12th National Peso Congress held at the Baguio Country Club in Baguio City.
Luningning Vergara, Pampanga’s Peso manager, said Pineda is now included in the roster of “Hall of Fame Awardees” as far as provision of employment services in the country is concerned.
For the third time in a row, Vergara bagged the 2012 national championship award as the “Best Peso Manager” for first class province category.
Vergara said this is an affirmation of the commitment of Pampanga Peso to support the Aquino agenda in “strengthening local employment, of solving the job-skills mismatch and of pushing back unemployment.”
The Peso manager attributed Pampanga’s winning the awards to key factors—the full support and effective working relationship with municipal-based Peso coordinators in the province, the governor, Peso’s partner agencies including the Department of Labor and Employment and the Bureau of Labor and Employment.
Vergara said they were able to deliver the needed public employment services because of the cooperation of all the said stakeholders as she also cited the support of the Federation of Peso managers in Central Luzon.
Vergara said the Peso’s good working relationship with its partners from the regional down to the provincial and municipal levels with Peso coordinators and government agencies is not merely inter-office but more of an interrelation between and among family members.
The Search for “National Best Peso” is an annual recognition of the contribution of Peso on employment facilitation programs and of the implementation of relevant initiatives for its constituents.
