Making Pampanga a land of peace, prosperity

Crime busters, Senior Supt. Edgardo Tinio and Gen. Gregorio Catapang join Gov. Pineda in the distribution of patrols in Arayat.

If you are asked to a journey that will lead you to a peaceful and orderly place, will you try?
Gov. Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda is inviting all Kapampangans to join her in this journey that will transform Pampanga into a place where peace and prosperity abound.
The moment Governor Nanay set foot in the highest hierarchy of public service in the province, she eagerly started to work for the realization of this trip to peace and tranquility. She has done a thorough study on the peace and order situation. She discovered the scarcity of the police force; inadequate number of service vehicles and lack of motivation of the village police or “tanods” in the performance of their duties. Never minding the situation, the governor applies the old cliché, “If there is a will, there is a way”. Yes, it is the determination of Nanay Gob to pursue her dream of making Pampanga a peaceful place to live in which paved the way for the Capitol to respond to the needs of the Provincial Police Office.

With the able leadership of Police Senior Superintendent Edgardo Tinio, police director, the police have designed a master plan on how to address the problem on the scarcity of police force to oversee the peace and order. They tapped and activated the services and volunteerism of 10,000 barangay tanods of the province who serve as force multipliers. These village police underwent trainings on how to solve petty crimes, conduct dialogues and proper coordination with the PNP and AFP. Aside from this, they were given baton and uniforms for their daily patrols. Through the initiative of Governor Nanay, police personnel were given capacity and capability-building seminar to update their knowledge and skills in crime prevention. She allotted budget for the construction and rehabilitation of police stations and gave them communication equipment for intelligence and network. To make sure that no one is left in this endeavor, Governor Nanay distributed motorcycle patrols to all the more than 500 barangays of this province to be used by the tanods for crime prevention and emergencies. Doing a math here, 1,058 skilled and trained-police personnel plus 10,000 indomitable tanods, we now have 11,058 abled-men to protect the more than two million Kapampangans. Now, these men are ready to usher the Kapampangans toward the road of emerging peace and prosperity. Nanay gob realizes that the preparation for the journey is not easy. It requires enough time, resources and sacrifices. Nonetheless, she has worked for it and is continuously working to achieve the Kapampangans’ dream of peace and order in the province.

Yes, the journey starts here. Nanay Gov is ready to take the lead but she needs the support of every Kapampangan for this journey to succeed. Peace and order is not the sole responsibility of the police, armed forces and the political leaders. Everyone is accountable. You and I have the role. Let’s contribute for the realization of this dream of making Pampanga, a land of peace and prosperity. Always consider this catchphrase, “Basta Alagang Nanay, Serbisyong Tunay”. Now tell me who’s afraid to take the challenge of this journey?
