CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The provincial government led by the members of the provincial board and department heads led the wreath laying ceremony infront of capitol grounds which marked the commemoration of the Philippines’ 114th Independence Day.
Hundreds of yellow and white balloons soared in the sky as a symbol of the celebrated freedom of the land from the Spanish colonization.
Atty. Andres Pangilinan, provincial administrator said the administration of Governor Lilia G. Pineda can be compared to the independence of the country as the governor led a democratic way of governance where the voice of the people is being heard and given utmost priority.
Pangilinan said the governor is practicing participatory leadership where the voice of the Kapampangans particularly the poor is given importance and they are given all the chance to participate in decision making process which results to total family and community development.
Capitol employees said the governor is upholding the independence of every Kapampangan and the Filipinos as a whole. “This is being manifested in the way she runs the provincial government and through shared leadership,” they said.
According to Provincial Health Officer (PHO) Dr. Marcelo Jaochico, the governor also believed that true freedom can be achieved if the people are healthy and free from the bondage of poverty and they enjoy the economic prosperity.
Third District Board Member Monina Laus who brought her child in the commemoration rites urged the parents to show their children the values behind the Independence Day.
