217 Patients Laud Gov’s Medical Mission

LUBAO – A total of 217 patients served in the recently conducted medical mission at the Escolastica Romero District Hospital (ERDH) here lauded Governor Lilia “Nanay” G. Pineda and her Special Medical Team led by Dr. Jose Antonio “J” Rivera.

The program dubbed, “Serbisyu keng Pamilya: Kalusugan para sa Bayan Asensong Pangkalahatan” aimed at serving the poor from second district who suffer from benign cysts, lipomas, warts and masses.

Dr. Rivera was joined by 25 surgeons, some from Jose B. Lingad Memorial Hospital but mostly private practitioners who serve as volunteer medical consultants of the governor.

According to Rivera, they expected to receive some 200 patients yet they were able to serve patients beyond this number, all inclusive of medical and surgical patients.

Mariano Bustos and Ignacio Ayson, residents of Barangay Calsadang Bayu in Porac town, learned of the medical mission through their barangay health workers and have decided to come to ERDH and have their cysts removed.

Marietta Maniego, resident of Floridablanca has also learned of the medical mission and had her lipoma at the nape removed.

Also, mayors Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab of Lubao and Yolly M. Pineda of Sta. Rita were both present during the medical mission in ERDH.

Both are grateful for the continuous efforts of the provincial government in providing accessible health care programs for the people of second district and the province.

Cayabyab also added that Capitol’s programs, especially in health services, are very significant in supplementing the limited funds of the municipality.

Meanwhile, Mayor Pineda of Sta. Rita said that Kapampangans are now well attended to since the provincial government is now intensifying its health programs.

It’s very systematic,” the Sta. Rita mayor proudly disclosed.

Mayor Pineda also implored the Kapampangans to seek the help of the government and to not hesitate in asking for assistance.

The minor surgeries performed during the medical mission were all free of charge inclusive of antibiotics and pain relievers, as well as the follow-up checkup this coming Saturday at ERDH. (Angelique DC. Tuazon, PIO Pampanga)
