Gov Inaugurates New District Hospital in Magalang Town

Governor Lilia G. Pineda led concerned government officials in the inauguration ceremonies of the newly-completed P35 million worth Dr. Andres Luciano District Hospital, formerly known as Balitucan District Hospital, in barangay San Pablo, Magalang town.

The hospital is designed to provide needed medical services to residents of Magalang town and nearby municipalities of Mexico, Arayat, Mabalacat and San Luis, among others.

In her message, the governor said that the completion of the district hospital is a dream come true of the beloved sons of Magalang town – former Governor Bren Z. Guiao and his son, the incumbent Vice-Governor Joseller “Yeng” Guiao.

She recalled that even during their election campaign sorties in 2010, the vice-governor promised their constituents that he would ensure the construction of a new and better district hospital, thus it was a promise fulfilled.

The governor thanked Guiao and all the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for their utmost support and cooperation in the realization of the project.

Complete with new equipment and facilities which include a birthing station worth P5 million funded by the Department of Health (DOH), the hospital is at par with some private hospitals in the province.

The governor instructed the hospital medical practitioners and staff to complement the new hospital and facilities and provide equally good service and treatment to their patients and clients.

“Masanting ya ing ospital tamu, dapat masanting din ing serbisyu,” Pineda stressed to the medical staff as she warned them that any report of disservice or maltreatment will definitely be dealt with accordingly.

The governor is now also working for the completion of the doctors, nurses and other medical personnel to man the hospital which has a 50-bed capacity.

She likewise ordered the hospital pharmacist and medical supply officer to always ensure the availability of medicine supply and submit the necessary requisition to concerned officials at least three months before the supply ends.

Congressman Carmelo F. Lazatin who graced the inauguration ceremonies committed to provide P1 million funds for medicines and other medical supplies for the district hospital.

Board Members Cris Garbo, Tars Halili, Monina Laus, Trina Dizon, Fritzie David-Dizon, Raul Macalino, Nestor Tolentino, Ric Yabut, Salvador Dimson, Jr. and Dein Henson together with Mayors Teddy Tumang of Mexico, Luis Espino of Arayat, Venancio Macapagal of San Luis and Mayor Romulo Pecson of Magalang including the Sangguniang Bayan members attended the inauguration ceremonies.  (Erlinda T.
