Provincial government officials, led by Governor Lilia G. Pineda, have been recently making the rounds of various key municipalities in Pampanga to update the local municipal and barangay officials on the state of the province and dialogue with them on their communities’ pressing developmental issues and concerns.
The governor is joined by Vice-Governor Joseller “Yeng” Guiao, Provincial Administrator Atty. Andres S. Pangilinan, Jr., Board Members Monina Laus, Trina Dizon, Nestor Tolentino, Ric Yabut, Cris Garbo, Raul Macalino, Salvador Dimson, Jr., Melchor Pingul and other concerned department heads of the capitol during the municipal outreach sorties.
According to Joel Mapiles, provincial information officer, these events aimed to inform and update the public on the various infrastructure, health and nutrition, livelihood, education and social development projects completed and implemented under Governor Pineda’s administration.
More so, the SOPA dialogues seek to promote public awareness on the on-going services of the Capitol which the community members, especially the indigents, senior citizens and persons with disabilities and other priority target sectors could avail of.
The first municipal state of the province address (SOPA) event was held in Arayat town during which the provincial capitol team met with and had a dialogue with local government officials led by Mayor Chito Espino.
Governor Pineda distributed PhilHealth Cards to the municipality’s barangay tanods which are always in the frontline of public service in the barangay level.
Mapiles explained that officials of the provincial capitol also make use of these events as venues to dialogue and personally see and hear for themselves the municipalities’ various issues and concerns which must be immediately addressed by the provincial government.
In Magalang town for instance, the governor together with the provincial team and Mayor Romulo Pecson and other municipal officials, visited the vegetable nursery garden of San Miguel Elementary School.
The governor has been encouraging backyard vegetable raising in the communities to promote good nutrition and at the same time augment the income of needy families.
The chief provincial executive also makes sure that her advocacies on proper garbage disposal, waste segregation and maintenance of clean and healthy surroundings are included in the said outreach activities.
Pineda recognizes the important role of barangay and municipal officials in enjoining and mobilizing their respective constituents towards achieving and maintain clean and healthy province.
To date, the SOPA sorties have also been conducted in San Simon and will soon be brought to other target municipalities of Pampanga as well, Mapiles ended. (Pampanga PIO)
