Gov Delta vows support through EFAP, urges solo parents to enroll kids in college

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda encouraged 3, 932 solo parents to enroll their children who are eligible for college level. He vowed to support their children through the Educational Financial Assistance Program (EFAP) funded by the provincial government.

The EFAP provides financial assistance to indigent students to help them defray school-related expenses.

“Metung kayu pu kareng priorities ning Kapitolyu, kaya kekayung solung pengari na ating anak mag-college, e kayu pu mag adwang isip na lumapit kekami, magpasa requirements. Ing Kapitolyu na ing bala keng pamagaral dareng anak yu,” he said.

In addition, Governor Delta also asked the solo parents to propose projects and programs that would aid them in raising their children to 1st District Board Member Cherry Manalo, Chairperson Committee on Women and Children.

He assured that the provincial government are always willing to attend to their needs and that they are open for any suggestions.

“Nanu mang programa or projects na akakit yung kailangan or maging masanting kekayu, ekayu pung mag atubiling sabyan ye kekami,” so the governor said during the gift-giving activity to the Child Development Workers (CWDs) and Solo Parents on Thursday, December 19, at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center (BZGCC), here.

Meanwhile, before leaving the convention, the solo parents were given P1,000 each and food packs as an early Christmas present for holiday celebration.

Also present in the distribution were 1st District Board Members Benjamin Jocson and Cherry Manalo, 2nd District Board Members Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, Fritzie David-Dizon and Joseph Anthony Torres, 3rd District Board Members Rosve Henson, Ananias Canlas and Ferdinand Labung, 4th District Board Member Nelson Calara, and Liga ng mga Barangay (LNB) President Renato Mutuc.
