CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA – The big three business organizations in the province united and converged to make Pampanga an economic powerhouse.

This came as Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., headed by Rene Romero; Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (MACCII), led by Myra Rivera; and Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA), chaired by Dr. Bong Alvaro held yesterday (October 24) the first-ever Tri-Chamber General Membership Meeting & Introduction of New Members at Laus Group Event Center, here.

This was developed after the successful joint board meeting of the said business organizations held at Clark Freeport recently.

According Romero, the event was historic as this was the first time the three top chambers assembled to make the voice of the business community louder, the local economy of the province stronger, and be a better partner for Pampanga’s inevitable progress.

Prior to this, Romero said, PamCham already signed a sisterhood agreement with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) in Quezon City that aims to give each chamber an opportunity to enhance their respective organizations.

During the general membership meeting, Dr. Cielito Habito, Economics professor at Ateneo de Manila University and former National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Director General, discussed the trends, opportunities, and threats the Philippine economy has.

Habito said that business chambers in Pampanga should make sure to “give that kind of a pressure on our local leaders to provide the kind of environment that you need so that your potentials can be fully realized.”

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, who graced the event, has expressed his full-support for the business sector, and openness to partner with them in achieving economic growth.

In response, Romero said that their sector is also willing to propose ideas that could help in the development of the whole province of Pampanga.

“Kami ay natutuwa, dahil napakagaling ng ating gobernador na si Gov. Dennis Pineda. Lagi niyang tinatanong kung may maitutulong siya sa amin, kaya gusto rin namin siyang tulungan sa mga pangangailangan na hindi alam ng Kapitolyo, kami ay handang magmungkahi,” he said.

Also in the event were Board Members Anthony Joseph Torres and Jun Canlas; City of San Fernando (CSF) Mayor Edwin Santiago; CSF Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin; Angeles City Vice Mayor Vicky Vega; Former Congressman Oscar Rodriguez; Former Capas’ Mayor TJ Rodriguez; Clark Philippine Air Force headed by MGen. Allen Paredes; Dr. William Co, PhilCham vice chairman; Sarah Deloraya-Mateo, PCCI president; Marco Nepomuceno, former PCCI regional director; Engr. Jesus Nicdao, PamCham chairman; Jimmy Jimenez, PamCham vice chairman; PCCI Area Vice President-elect Gigi Simbulan; PCCI Governor-elect Alvin Belarmino; Department of Trade and Industry (DTI); local government officials, and representatives from non-government organizations.
