On its 85th anniversary: Gov Delta thanks PCSO

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO- Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda lauded Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) for making the agency’s social, financial, and medical services readily available to Kapampangan patients who are in need of assistance.

“PCSO is one of our strongest partners in the implementation of comprehensive and integrated delivery of services to the people of Pampanga. That is why, we are so much thankful to the agency,” the governor said.

This was gleaned during the agency’s 85th-anniversary celebration held on Monday at the PCSO Pampanga branch office here.

The PCSO Pampanga branch held a motorcade, medical and dental missions, and gift-giving, according to Pampanga branch manager Ma. Lourdes Soliman.

In the event, around 1,500 Aetas, scavengers and other poor patients were served.

PCSO General Manager Royina Garma also provided P500,000 to fund the heart operation of Daisy Casupanan, a one-year-old Aeta girl from Barangay Nabuklod in Floridablanca town, diagnosed with Ventricular Septal Defect.

The Pampanga Governor thanked GM Garma for the assistance she gave to the girl.

“Sobrang laki ng pabor na binibigay ng PCSO lalo na sa mga kabalen nating may sakit. Kaya sobra rin po ang pasasalamat ko kay GM Garma. Imagine isang batang katutubong may sakit nabigyan panibagong pag-asa,” Gov Delta said.

GM Garma for her part also thanked the Pampanga provincial government for constructing the PCSO Pampanga office during the time of former Gov. Lilia Pineda.

“Ang PCSO ay totoo sa kanyang mandato na tumulong sa nangangailangan,” GM Garma said.

“Kahit po kayo ay matalo sa ating mga games, may panalo pa rin po dahil napapagamot tayo gaya ni Daisy Casupanan,” she added.

In 2010, it can be recalled that the provincial government has donated P 12 M for the construction of the 2-storey Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) building at the Government Center in this city to bring the agency’s services closer to the Kapampangans.
