LUBAO— Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda urges 1,305 Nanay Community Workers from Lubao, Sasmuan and Floridablanca to participate in the growth and development of their villages in a general assembly here.
The event with the theme “Enhancing Information Dissemination in the Communities through Nanay Community Workers,” tackled the topics on health, peace and order, and campaign against illegal drugs.
Governor Pineda pointed out that the health of the NCWs and their families should be prioritized aside from their duties.
The NCWs should be healthy in order for them to perform their assigned duties and responsibilities well, the lady governor added.
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (PDRRM) Officer Angelina Blanco encouraged the participants to continue helping the barangay council in disseminating information about the projects and programs of the Capitol.
Moreover, Blanco discussed the hazards affecting the province and mentioned some emergency preparedness tips
Blanco also briefed the duties of NCW in Barangay Risk Reduction Management. According to her, NCWs shall be involved in the conduct of barangay profiling, and identification of the sick.
The PDRRMO pointed out that the Provincial Board will make more ordinances and programs for the benefit of the NCWs.
Acting Provincial Police Chief Efren David Jr., for his part, explained the status of the peace and order in the province.
On the other hand, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 3 Information Officer Glenn Guillermo updated the audience about the progress of the Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign of Capitol.
Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda ended the event by reminding the community workers to be aware about the health programs of the provincial government for them.
Lubao Mayor Mylene Pineda-Cayabyab also gave her support in the event.
NCW is a brainchild of Vice Governor Delta, aiming to assist and support the barangay officials in guiding and teaching the youth on information dissemination, proper solid waste management, and environmental cleanup.
