CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – In line with the programs prioritizing the health and well-being of Kapampangans, the provincial government of Pampanga signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Social and Welfare Development (DSWD) for the establishment of ‘Lingap at Gabay para sa may Sakit’ at the Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital.
This center was funded for P5 million by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
“Lingap at Gabay para may Sakit” will be assisting patients in need of prescription medicines via the issuance of guarantee letters.
Priority beneficiaries would be families or individuals who are indigent, vulnerable and disadvantaged; informal sector and poor based on the DSWD Listahanan; government employees and contract of service workers working in the government; police personnel/officers who were killed or wounded; and those who are in crisis situations based on assessment of social workers.
Meanwhile, Pineda thanked the President for extending a helping hand to the Kapampangans.
She also told Gemma Gabuya, DSWD Regional Director III, that this will lessen the worries of the patient’s family, particularly for medicine assistance.
It can be recalled that it was during the Pineda’s leadership that the Consignment Contract was signed, where a patient and his family are prohibited from buying medicines outside the public hospitals supervised by the provincial government.
Moreover, for the lady Governor who also prioritizes health programs, this will ensure that all Kapampangans will be able to afford medicines.
Also present during the signing were Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda, Board Members Fritzie David-Dizon, Pol Balingit, and Cherry Manalo; Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) Head Elizabeth Baybayan and DSWD staff.
