CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “Pampanga is number two most peaceful province in the Philippines according to the records of the Philippine National Police (PNP).”
So, said Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ G. Pineda during the Punong Barangay Assembly on Community Peace and Order and Public Safety recently held at Kingsborough International Convention Center here.
Nanay Gob cited the province’s intensive campaign against illegal drugs and the coordination between the police and the barangay captains as to why Pampanga became one of the most peaceful provinces in the country.
“Bumaba ang krimen, walang rape, walang robbery, maganda ang peace and order natin dahil sa massive campaign natin laban sa droga lalo na sa tulong ninyong mga kapitan,” Gov. Pineda said.
During the assembly, the lady governor tasked the barangay captains to have a record of all motorcycle owners in their areas of jurisdiction.
The governor’s order came as the Philippine National Police (PNP) shifted its focus on motorcycle riding-in-tandem criminals after it was officially delisted as the main operating force in the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.
The governor added that the record will help law enforcers in the fight against the occurrence of riding -in-tandem and motorcycle-riding suspects on shooting incidents.
