More indigents to benefit from surgical caravan

City of San Fernando – More indigent Cabalen will be able to avail free medical health services as the Department of Health’s (DoH) surgical caravan continues to visit the ten district hospitals in Pampanga.

The program is spearheaded by the DoH through Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital (JBLMRH) in partnership with the provincial government. It seeks to provide free clinical services to every kapampangan, particularly those who have limited access to basic healthcare, according to Dr. Marcelo Y. Jaochico, provincial health officer (PHO)-II.

Jaochico advised Cabalens who need medical attention to proceed to the district hospital in their towns where there is an ongoing surgical caravan to avail of the following services: minor operation for cysts, dental and eye care, pediatric, internal health and dermatology consultation, and x-ray and CT-scan, among others.

For major surgical procedures, he said the patient will be referred to JBLMRH for proper treatment.

In support to President Duterte’s health agenda to make basic health services accessible to all, Jaochico said that walk –in patients who are from other towns will also be entertained in the ongoing surgical caravan.

The health officer further cited Gov. Lilia G. Pineda for her programs that give priority to poor Cabalens, including the provision of food and transport.

In past health activities, the governor had repeatedly advised the recipients of her health programs, mostly indigents and elderly, to always have their medical check-up in order to keep track of their health and avoid serious medical conditions.
