CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Department of Health Regional Office-3 (DOH-3) director Dr. Leonita Gorgolon expressed her support to the province’s preventive health system.
This was gleaned during the health system’s launching and the Consultative Meeting on the Health Management System of Pampanga at Kingsborough International Convention Center here yesterday.
Gorgolon said the health services that the government provide must focused on the marginalized sector.
“It is one of the thrusts of the Philippine Health Agenda that all of the identified poor citizens must at least receive two medical check-ups a year.”
Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda reminded the province’s health workers to coordinate with the DOH regional office, and help the department in distributing free medicines to the identified poor.
“All the medicines provided by DOH is free. Let us help them in bringing these to our constituents by delivering them to our respective municipalities and cities,” she said.
The governor added that the preventive health system is already rolling in and will be going to every barangay in the province.
She enjoined the health workers to mobilize and assist sick people in their community and those who are in need of other medical services.
Gov. Pineda expressed belief that the program will help the government save more if it succeeds.
“If this will be successful, there won’t be dialysis patients or others who will ask for chemotherapy. We can save hundreds of millions with this preventive health system,” she said.
