LUBAO – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-3 (BFAR-3) inaugurated yesterday the new Monitoring Central Station (MCS) in Barangay Sta. Catalina here.
The inauguration was led by BFAR Regional Director Wilfredo M. Cruz together with Former 2nd District Congressman Mikey Arroyo, Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda- Cayabyab and Regional Fisherfolk Director Reynaldo Basco.
According to Cruz, BFAR established monitoring surveillance station to monitor illegal fishing activity in Manila Bay and provinces in Central Luzon.
He added that the construction of MCS was funded by BFAR amounting to P600, 000.
Cruz said there is another station in Masantol wherein fisher folks can stay during the night at the same time it is also utilized as office for fishery livelihood development technician.
He also emphasized that the fishery livelihood development technicians help in strengthening the production in the fishery sector.
