Farmers receive 37 shallow tube wells from Capitol

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Various association of farmers in the province received on Thursday 37 shallow tube wells from Acting Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Sangguniang Panlalawigan in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Acting Governor Delta advised the farmer-beneficiaries to use the equipment well for better yield and to sustain rice and crop sufficiency in the province.

The distribution facilitated by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist at Provincial Engineer’s Office compound here was also graced by 3rd District Board Member Ananias “Jun” Canlas, chair of the Committee on Agriculture, 2nd District Board Member Anthony Joseph Torres and Board Members Olga Frances David-Dizon, president of Pampanga Councilors’ League.

Edilberto Salenga, provincial agriculturist said the farm equipment will be used for 20 corn and 17 rice programs in Districts 1, 2 and 3 including corn farmers from Barangay Pansinao in Candaba town.
He added that the shallow tube wells were requested by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda from DA to help ease the irrigation problem of farmers in the province and to counter the harsh effects of El Niño to the farmlands.
