CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Gov. Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda along with former president and now 2nd ditrict Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and husband Atty. Mike Arroyo led the groundbreaking ceremony for the Macapagal and Arroyo Science Laboratory building.
The building worth P20-million is donated by the Lourdes Tuason de Arroyo Foundation, Inc (LTA) in line with the celebration of the former president’s 70th birthday.
The science lab building will be constructed in the eight-hectare property along Olongapo-Gapan Road in in barangay Sta. Catalina this town beside the new municipal hall and Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU) satellite campus that are currently under construction.
Arroyo disclosed that the former first gentleman wants to donate a rehabilitation center in this town but Gov. Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda requested for a science building.
Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab thanked the Arroyo family and underscored the importance of the building that will be beneficial to the future students of the DHVTSU satellite campus.
“I want to thank the Arroyo family for their love and support for this town (Lubao). I’m hoping that a lot of students will benefit from this science laboratory,” the mayor said.
DHVTSU Executive Vice President Rohel Serrano expressed his gratitude to the local government of Lubao for hosting the extension campus and the LTA for the science building donation.
It was learned that the building will have 12 rooms. The facilities and equipment of the said building will be shouldered by the provincial government.
Also present during the ceremony were Luli Arroyo-Bernas, former senator Bongbong Marcos, Cong. Antonio Lagdameo, Vice Gov. Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda, board member Fritzie David-Dizon and other local officials.
